Joy Turner is a Christ-centered young woman who is walking in her purpose and living in contentment despite the many challenges and obstacles that come along with life. Joy is a musician, vocalist, songwriter and piano instructor who has
recently added author to her repertoire and hopes to inspire and have a positive impact on her readers. She is currently studying as a minister in training with hopes in becoming licensed in the near future. Her desire to serve God and utilize
all of the gifts and abilities bestowed upon her keep her motivated and striving towards excellence. One of her greatest responsibilities is being a “mommy” to her son. As a single parent, Joy realizes the challenges and the joys that come
along with being accountable to someone other than self. Joy believes strongly in the institution of family and values the closeness and support from immediate and extended family members. Joy is the onlysister amidst four loving brothers
and only daughter to her parents who continue to support her endeavors while keeping her grounded and humble.

What the future holds for this ambitious new author, only God can know it. However, Joy is already at work on a second book about praise & worship and music in the church.This book, she hopes will be utilized as a supplementary tool for ministry leaders in capacities such as dance, mime, singing and other artistic expression utilized for praise & worship in the body of Christ. Another book in the making will be on the topic of depression and will include stories and testimonies
of triumph, victory and deliverance over this powerful stronghold that is surprisingly prevalent even in the church.

Joy desires to continue making her mark in the music arena by continuing to offer her services as a songwriter and producer of good wholesome music that will uplift, encourage and inspire. She also desires to continue teaching piano/
keyboard lessons to children and adults.

Joy discovered through her own trials and tribulation that she has a burden to speak to young women and girls about issues that hinder contentment and self development. Self esteem, insecurities, dependency, rape, abuse and many
more that merely scratch the surface of topics that the author believes need to be brought to the forefront and dealt with openly. Together she believes we can work towards overcoming (not avoiding) the issues of life that have us bound and
unable to move forward in our preordained purpose.

The author anticipates that many of her readers and supporters will come from all walks of life, from all different persuasions and even having varying beliefs. However, the author believes that when you find something good, you just
can’t keep it to yourself. Joy attributes her achievements and successes to her relationship with her lord & Savior, Jesus Christ. To the author, Jesus remains “the center” of her joy and with that, she can boldly and confidently claim “I am
content…right where I am”.
